Don't you just hate it when those Mom's go on and on about how wonderful their kids are? I try to avoid falling into that trap, but this is different!
My husband and I have one son, Eddie who is 10. He is very active, loves snowboarding and basketball. But once the snow is gone, he's totally into skateboarding. Eddie is very determined and when he puts his mind to something, he works very hard to be the best he can be. This picture was taken last Saturday, after he won 1st place in the Encounter Skateboard competition in Duluth. He's been in sk8 comps before, and has "made it to the podium", placing 2nd or 3rd in Grand Rapids. But this was a bigger accomplishment for him. He was going to a larger community, up against a larger group of boys and the age group was 13 and under. He's 10, and still managed to outskate his competition with his wide variety of skate moves! He not only was presented with the 1st place medal, but also a new skateboard deck! He's a pretty happy guy, and ...well, we're pretty proud that after working hours and hours on his moves, he accomplished his goal and that is why we think he's pretty special!
