Reflections.....

It is summer, or at least the calendar tells me it is. Today is a cool 45 degrees, windy and a little rainy. Summer is more than half over, and where have all those sunny days been? There just ain't no sunshine anymore! Today is a good day to finish up a few angels that have been waiting for names. This photo shows Miss Dee Linquent, Angel of Negotable Negligence,Miss Dee Lightful, Angel of Glee and Giddyness, and Miss Dee Lirious, Angel of Bewilderment and Confusion. Once the sunshine comes back, I'll be outside working in the garden or my shop again.

But on those cloudy days, I reflect back...You're probably wondering about my choice of a song. I haven't thought about the Al Green song, "Ain't no Sunshine When She's Gone" in years. I was recently reminded of it by a high school classmate I haven't seen in 37 years - that's right, I said 37 years. WOW, my brain doesn't even think I'm that old! I've been reflecting on past lives and have felt driven to look up old classmates. I don't know why. Maybe it's the weather. But facebook has been a fun tool to use to connect with people, both presently in my life, and those from the past. I'm finding that a lot of my classmates turned out to be pretty cool people. And the question is...why didn't we hang more when we were in high school? I guess, looking back, I was pretty immature and not confident enough to make a lot of friends, and it was just more comfortable to hang with a couple girlfriends. Now, the more friends, the merrier! More is better? More, More, More... I wonder, more leads to a pretty fast pace. We're doing more, seeing more people, busy, busy, busy. Wow!
Last week, I was reminded to slow down. Take a few moments to stop and enjoy the small things. Our cat, Liger, had 5 baby kitties. 4 are yellow and one is black. Holding them is an instant chill pill...their soft small mews are so tender. Ahhh, that's a great reminder to slow down and live every day. Enjoy the rest of the summer!
