I love that my sister appreciates scrounging for junk as much as I do...perhaps more! She isn't always able to look past the mud and grease to see the possibilities of a well scrubbed up box or bin, or old painted desk...but she knows what I like and is able to dig deep to find cool stuff!
We just came back from our yearly junking binge at our favorite farm tractor show! This is the 6th year we've gone on this junket, and each year is an adventure. We've had a lot of laughs, met some great people, but have also suffered through some pretty terrible weather. As a result, we now consider ourselves expert junkers and are literally prepared for any and all weather conditions.
This year we were blessed with awsome weather. The first day we were there was actually a little....dare I say it...warm? After last year, no one, and I mean no one would complain!
It's fun to see the same vendors, and believe me...they remember us! The blonds from up north. In fact, this year one vendor called us "sassy", another told us we needed to be "enlightened" on our dickering techniques and yet another called us "cheap". Such compliments! That is really what it's all about - part of the fun, to haggle over prices, give those vendors a laugh, have fun and buy cool stuff!
This year I found a lot of things for the garden, porch and yard. Lots of benches, chairs, boxes, bins, buckets and water cans.
Come check out my new stuff this Saturday, May 2nd. 10 am to 5 pm. Or, call ahead anytime and if I'm home, I'll open!
SPRING HAS SPRING! HIP HIP HORRAY!!!
