I've waited a few days before posting....waiting for my mood to adjust to winter again. It helped having a "girls night out" last night, chatting with friends and letting their good moods, and the comradery of the group wash over me. It was a gentle reminder to focus on the important things in life...and that snow will eventually melt. Thanks to all my friends that came out on Saturday for my sale. It was a lovely day and each customer was rewarded with a bouquet of pussy willows I had picked on those nice 50 degree days the previous week. The yard had begun to dry, with only a few patches of snow left in the shady areas. The pets were frisky, and sap was running, but that was Saturday afternoon.... by evening it had begun to snow and Sunday we awoke to 10 inches of new snow, and it was still falling!

My husband blew snow several times to make sure we could keep up with it. By that evening, we knew that there would be no school the following day and my son was giddy with excitement and performing his best celebratory dance! By morning, our total accumulation was 24 inches, more snow than we've had all year. I must admit, it was really beautiful if you didn't have anywhere you had to be and could just enjoy it. I just heard that the forcast is for more snow again by Friday.

But here's something to hang onto... I just snapped this photo of my golden retriever, Carrot, who has chosen to take his morning nap on a snowbank versus his cozy rug. Even last week when we had those warm days, he would find a patch of snow to lay on. He is a hardy Minnesotan and I take my lesson from him....life can't be all that bad. After all, isn't that why we live in Minnesota? So we can brag to the nation of how tough we are?

Kathy - your blog is terrific! Hope the snow is melting as quickly as it fell. The ferns and other woodsy greens will begin to burst out of the bog with the moisture and sunshine!
Have you named any angels Fern yet?
Tamara, a Minneapple girlfriend
Hey, Tam...thanks for checking out my blog. Every day the snow melts a little more. I was able to chip the ice off the front step today and reshovel out the grill! Should be ready for your next visit! Homemade syrup awaits your arrival.
