Ditch Pickin

This morning, after a cup of coffee, I put on my garden gloves, work shirt, leather gloves and garden clogs and tromped out across the road. My dog carrot accompanied me, of course. It iwas time to pick the ditch before the chopper machines come by and munch everything. I can hear them just a mile down the road, so it was a race to get to those precious wild flowers before they did. I was able to pick a whole bucket of black-eyed susans! I spent the next hour sorting through them, stripping leaves and grouping them into bouquets for drying. If I keep at this job for the next couple mornings, I should have some nice dried bouquets for my October Birthday sale! Stay tuned!
