Staging your Garden....Primitive Style!

Spring.....my absolute favorite time of year!  Perennials popping up through the snow is such a welcome sight!  This year, our lack of snowfall brought an early spring....it feels like we've jumped right into summer!  And what a blessing that is for those of us that like to garden!  My perennial gardens are filled with a lot of rusty stuff, like ladders with calf pails filled with cascading petunias, old pumps, buckets, wheels, and whole sections of red barn walls framing the view into the woods!  I have always played outside, letting my imagination run wild and creating entire rooms to enjoy.  As a child, there was a "shelter belt", what I called "the woods" in our back yard.  It wasn't large enough to get lost in, but for a child, it was perfect and easy to navigate.  Back in the day, it was the place to throw junk.  For me, it was a treasure hunt every day.  I would spend entire days playing in those woods, raking paths and creating an entire town.  I called it Tiny Town, and it was a special day to invite friends over to play in Tiny Town!  A Model T seat made a couch in my house.  Old jars and cans were set up in the grocery store.  And there was a hardware store housing old rusty tools.  Creating outdoor rooms still seems to be a passion.  I "Stage" my garden, just as I "Stage" my home for living and "Stage" a house for people to sell.  The secret to Staging your gardens is to create vignettes to bring a smile, offer some shade, or bring back childhood memories.  You too can find wonderful things at Checkered Past to STAGE YOUR GARDENS!
